Jai sang ma: Reviews & Ratings
This is probably my third or fourth time coming back here and I just can’t get enough! Must-order dishes every time are the Fried Chicken Joint and Nam Khao Tod (no photo, sorry… we finished it before I could snap one ) Pair it with 2-3 cold Singha beers, and definitely don’t skip the boat noodles—they’re incredibly flavorful. The vibe here is super fun, with great live music that keeps you hanging around until closing time. Plus, the staff is all so friendly and sweet… no way I’m leaving early!
stumbled upon this spot randomly and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing decor and vintage thai memorabilia. It was so cute! Also no wait which was a plus. For apps we got crispy rice balls and pickled green mango with mai dong herbal drink. The crispy rice was fried to perfection and the pickled mango with spicy chili powder (not sure what it was, kind of tastes like tajin) was yummy and juicy (kind of tasted like pickled daikon radish)! My partner got the khai soi with waygu and i got the tom yum noodle soup. Both were soooo delicious and perfect. I keep thinking about the delicious pork in the tom yum soup (both roasted and ground) It was a memorable meal in elmhurst. Only cons are it’s cash only and no dessert :(
I’ve been here twice now and the food truly tastes like authentic Northern Thai cuisine—rich, soulful, and full of depth. The Khao Soi is the absolute standout - deeply flavorful, perfectly spiced, and pure comfort in a bowl. Add in the cool, relaxed ambiance and this place is an easy repeat for me.
An intimate cozy experience, you are transported to a different time and place. Under lanterns hung on blossoming trees, next to a cabinet full of music cassette tapes. The food came out quick and was delicious, the whole experience memorable.
Chicken wings with larb spice was superb! Great texture, flavorful and very juicy. The dry crab & roast pork noodle was perfect for a hot summer day - very light and highly customizable with the accompanying sauces. The best part is the environment - the restaurant decor is so cute! Would love to come back with a bigger group for drinks and snacks.
Such a cute hole in the wall spot. My husband and I came here to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary, we love cozy spots like this and it didn’t disappoint. Service was great and food was phenomenal. The lychee beer is beautiful with the flavors. Make sure to ask for spice if you’re a spice lover like me!
Our evening was so nice at this place yummy food, live music on Tuesday night (which is unusual), great drinks, lovely waitress! Will be definitely back
Jai Sang Ma is truly one of Elmhurst's hidden gems for incredible Thai food. Stepping inside is a delightful experience—it immediately brings back a wonderfully nostalgic 90s vibe, making it the perfect spot to catch up with a friend or two in a cozy, memorable setting. The food was great across the board, and I appreciated that they have a good amount of selection on the menu. For the main courses, I highly recommend the Dry Crab and Pork Egg Noodle and the Khan Mun Gai Tod (fried chicken). To start, we had the fried fishballs and the Kanom Jeeb (shumai), both excellent appetizers. I would absolutely recommend this place! Go check it out and enjoy the atmosphere and the fantastic food.
